There are no ongoing lockdowns in China.
USA/China relations in regards to flights is abysmal, and there's only a fraction of direct flights available compared to pre-Covid.
Unfortunately there's a multitude of issues, but it mainly boils down to the big three US airlines not agreeing, DOT dragging their feet, Russia overflight restrictions, and basically just childish political crap whereby the bi-lateral pre-Covid agreements can't be resumed.
Flights Europe-China have normalized.
Flights MiddleEast-China have normalized.
Flights Australasia-China have normalized.
Flights USA-China have not, and are far and few between. This unfortunately means they can charge a premium.
Anyone wanting to go between the US and China usually makes a stop in Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan or HongKong to save thousands.
