I have redeemed 4 J class tickets for JAL from NYC to Singapore via Tokyo via Asia Miles. One of my nominees has got his baptism name added to his newly issued passport recently. When I called JAL to reflect this change, they said I have to call Asia Miles as they are only a partner airline. When I called Asia Miles, they told me because it is a partner airline, they can only cancel the ticket and wait for a new ticket to be available for redemption on the same date. There is a very low chance that we could get these tickets back as we are nearing the departure date.

I am aware the above posts mentioned middle names do not really matter. However, this name could be a First Name. Original = ABC LIM. New = ABC DEF LIM. On the Singapore passport, it reads as LIM<<ABC<DEF. Do you think this will be a problem from NYC to Singapore via Tokyo? Am feeling a bit perplexed now because its just an added baptism name which I did not think will cause so many issues.
