This makes no sense. The eclipse is going through thousands of towns and several large cities. Sure it’ll draw people, but not enough in one single place for someone to be willing to pay $500 in a small Arkansas Motel 6.
Last total eclipse in the US (2017), I stayed in St Louis (totality was just south of the city) and prices were all normal.
