Hi,
I flew a flight from Newark (EWR) to Houston (IAH) a week ago. It was a lunch service on a wide body jet (77E, i.e. GE90 w/ Polaris seats installed). Here are a few details:
(1) Pre-Departure Beverage: Yes | Sparkling Wine or Water | I choose water
(2) Pre-Order: No | Not available on domestic wide bodies
(3) First Choice | Yes, as a 1K, the lead was able to honor my 1st choice
(4) Choices Offered | Thai Meatballs, Glass Noodles or Rigatoni Pasta | My choice was the Rigatoni Pasta
(5) Service Flow | (a) Drinks and Nuts, (b) Full meal w/ salad, roll and cookie served together
Overall, the quality of the food was above average for a United Pasta dish based on past experience. I prefer the manicotti to this version though. The service by the lead and other F flight attendant was very good, friendly and professional. It's the first time that I've had a Boston crew. They were friendly, but quite direct as well. Drink top ups were offered.
Here are the photos:
