Yes, though sometimes, "seat error" is also... just that! I have also had it (faulty seat), and other times, it is just a message for the check in agent to check you are fine seating at an emergency exit. So the red bleep "can" be nice, but best not getting excited too soon!
I had a red beep a few months ago when flying in Y. Was row 9 aisle, no curtain move and got bumped back to a window in row 20.
Was not a happy camper.
