While it's probably not a barometer for the entire travelling population, in my own friend/family circles have twice recently heard about concerns with baggage. One chose to fly SkyTeam from Asia to avoid AY even though it had better timing and prefer OW (in J) and the other changed a direct Finnair flight to indirect in Europe as concerned with bags.

For many this may be the case, and I think there will be a major loss of J revenue pax if ay is not competitive, I do NOT know ANY airline that only offers J pax 1 bag of 23kg and even 10kg in Cabin so total of 33kg 😉

I know many disagree with me and say this is necessary but time will tell.

I stopped buying ay J with cash for this reason, granted I used up my 2 million plus points and will fly on those for the next 9 months but all (except one rt group Y eu booking) my revenue bookings went to ST and next year ST and perhaps QR or perhaps I will just settle for something else I really have NOT done the math yet, I keep having too much fun with trips that I havent stopped to ponder next year onwards
