Had a recent stay here that was good! At the end of the day it's a Moxy, so if that's not your thing, this location probably won't convince you about the brand. But if you're fine with it, I found this a pleasant property.

I was staying on a long term stay rate for 5 nights in a queen room. Officially there's no upgrades, but I was told I was placed on a higher floor with a nicer K street facing view due to my Platinum status (rather than being on the side or back of the building). The room is tight like most Moxy's are -- folding table and chairs hung up on the wall, wall pegs with hangers instead of a closet, etc. There was a tiny mini fridge which was a nice touch. There's a steamer in the bathroom, but ironing boards are shared in the hallway.

This location offered free coffee/tea in the lobby, the free Moxy drink poker chip, and provided me a breakfast voucher, in addition to the Platinum welcome gift (so I got the $10 F&B voucher on top of the breakfast vouchers - I'm not sure if the breakfast vouchers were due to status or my rate though). Color me impressed. Breakfast voucher was good for a hot breakfast sandwich or grab and go breakfast item + a drink from the refrigerator case. $10 F&B vouchers were good during the whole day for grab and go items, or for bar drinks and food in the afternoons/evenings.

Note that there's a rooftop bar/club which seemed to be very busy on weekend evenings, with a waiting line that wraps through the lobby, and also fills up the lobby bar with a bit of a party atmosphere. (I did not go to the rooftop bar, but it did make the lobby bar crowded enough on a Saturday night that I aborted my plan for a calm evening drink at the hotel). My room was 2-3 floors below it, but I can imagine that the top floor rooms would get quite a bit of noise from the rooftop. There's a seating/lounge/work area on the second floor ("The Library") that's usually not too crowded, and a small balcony off the gym that's also nice.

Location is not as close to the Metro/subway as some other Marriott properties, but it's within a 10 minute walk to the Metro Center, Chinatown/Gallery Place, and Mt Vernon Square/Convention Center stops. (Also near some convenient bus routes and Uber is always an option too).

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I do think that personally, 5 nights in any Moxy is a lot for me and I'm not sure I'd do that again, but I'd definitely be happy to stay here for a few nights.
