I've spent a stupid amount of time and so far am not finding much in that sweet spot. It's closer to $900-1100 all in (taxes & fees) to get 15K for 2 nights. What's out there even at this price & miles point shrinks dramatically if I'm also looking for one of the 2 nights to be a Saturday. And of course, that is taking the dumpster view room offered at the lowest price point.
YMMV, could be the specific markets I'm looking at, coupled with bookings relatively close in, and being medium-level picky with locations and amenities.
Best I've found this week is $694.0 / 13.5K miles / Sun-Tues booking. If my LPs since the switchover had actually posted, I'd be seriously considering this one. But no more AAH $$ from me to AA until they post.
I'm also waiting for my first booking since switchover to post, paid $350 for 9,900 LPs (+20% bonus) which felt decent by new platform standards. With the 15k/stay cap, I'm seeing the most value in low dollar one night stays awarding ~10k LPs, though even these are a bit needle in the haystack.
That said, I'm also pausing spend until I see the LPs post to my AAdvantage account.
