I've had a Vanilla Platinum card in the past (and cant really do the Schwab version). On my personal Gold (its 13+ months old, paid renewal fee after a retention offer a month ago), I noticed a 25k/2k spend upgrade offer to Personal Platinum.

Couple Q's:
1) reading back, seems like this is a paltry upgrade offer, but... nothing really in DPs over the last 1.5 years.... so I'm curious to see/hear what people have been offered recently (whether accepted or not)
2) I was given a retention offer on the Gold - 20k for 2k spend... just finished that... but the terms were , I believe, that I keep the card open for a year.... reading back in the thread a couple years, am I correct that an upgrade doesn't cause any problem here? IE if I closed the card within a year, sure, and if I closed an upgraded card , sure.... but a "newly retained" card upgraded within that first year post retention..... problem?
