What an outstanding and classy property! I can see myself visiting the Sheraton Hyde Park for many years to come. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Pros:
  • Was told in a pre-arrival email that I would be upgraded to a Grand Executive Suite, but that changed to the Terrace Spa Suite at least one day before arrival - the Terrace Spa Suite is a massive suite on the 21st floor (same as Club Lounge)
  • Lovely plush carpet and comfortable furniture - I loved the traditional design
  • Bed was great - plush pillows, plush / just-right mattress, decently thick covers (I decided to not ask for a 2nd duvet)
  • Amazing views around the Sydney Tower, Hyde Park, St Mary's Cathedral, etc.
  • Beautiful marble bathroom with a massive tub - I even took a bath, which I never do
  • Offered 4 PM late checkout in a named premium suite on a Friday night
  • So many water bottles
  • Nice chocolates left as a welcome gift
  • I found the lounge to be nice - good dessert selection in the evening (I had eaten a large dinner) and not too crowded
  • I opted for restaurant breakfast as my welcome gift (note breakfast is served in the Gallery as the Feast restaurant is being renovated), which I thought was great
    • Super soft pancakes great with my whipped cream, syrup, and brown sugar concoction
    • Tasty omelet from the omelet station
    • Great mochas and lattes
    • Great personality from one of the older servers
    • Some of the bacon was crispy
  • Lots of closet space
Neutral:
  • Shower pressure was just fine
Cons:
  • WiFi was a bit touchy, but it worked well most of the time
Overall, I will be returning to this amazing property.
