Some are not even bothering with taking the test anymore, although I still do, as I have many RATs still available.
It's based on the honor system, but as with anything "China", it's best to be safe than sorry.
Just do one those cheap and fast RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) within 48 hours of landing in China, then fill out the HEALTH DECLARATION within 24 hours of landing in China, get the QR code, take a screenshot of it, and you should be good to go.
(A date stamped photo is extra insurance, although with 99.9% likelihood not needed.)
