DL PM flying with KLM FB no status companion on the same PNR, on a mix of DL, KLM and AF flights. I can get Comfort+ seats for myself on the KLM flight, but not my companion, and the DL flights are asking me to pay a fee for both of us. Agent says complimentary Comfort+ is only available for either of us if we both have SkyMiles numbers tagged to the flights. Is this correct? PM benefits state complimentary Comfort+ upgrades for member and companion, no mention that companion must have SkyMiles status. It'd be more convenient long term for my companion to get FB miles accrued, hence I'd rather not create them a new SkyMiles account for just this one trip.
