i have booked sea lhr krk as a stopover
I have then flown lhr gla on a different ticket, i have used int dom transit. No need for a passport number in dom booking. The proces they use handles all cases, not 6 different processes for 6 different situations which would lead to more confusion
as I say I accept its a pain in the arse when it fails, but I understand why the process is as it is. I am sorry the OP was inconvenienced, My preferred solution would be a dedicated domestic area. I am sorry but I do not agree that gate agents should be encouraged to use "common sense". I think that creates an unwelcome stress for the gate agent on something they are not trained for.
As I mentioned my passport number is flagged in germany and I, and anyone with the same passport number but from a different country, get stopped every time we enter or leave schengen through germany, so i understand the pain in the arse bit.
As for the ba agent calling bf and ask ifvsomeone entered the uk using that passport, i think that may get complaints about it being open to gdpr abuse.
