Note that you can get a Delta Gold Amex card with no annual fee for the first year. This will provide a 15% mileage discount on DL awards (on DL metal) and a number of other potentially useful benefits when flying Delta. If you have not had the card before, you can also get 65K miles after $2K in spend on card.
