HA! It's been a week. No email from United for passenger compensation. Disappointing to not even get an apology for the inconvenience from United management.
However, I did receive an email from their PIRC. It requested a witness statement. I haven't replied yet.

Actually, not sure that I agreed that we needed to divert.
