OMG, I did the same thing, and it worked. AirAsia has the WORST website that I've dealt with. Impossible to enter details as the error checking for the input fields doesn't work, and even if you enter the correct details, it won't let you proceed to the next page. Good luck trying to make a purchase, Chase declined the transaction over 10 times because the transaction kept coming from different places (Singapore, Malaysia ). I had to escalate to a "supervisor" to manually allow the transaction to go through . Now, I have to figure out what else could go wrong on the day that I fly. Also, impossible to get help through the Bot that they use.
