Sorry didn't understand "2/4 BA-IB" flights?

Living outside of Auckland (BoP)
Current - BA silver / Cathay silver (near gold)
No corp travel policy - I book based on best cash price at time

My thinking is I will get Silver status or above pretty quickly with most airlines if taking 10-12 long haul J flights a year, but what really matters for me is where I can best burn those miles to back haul to EMEA in J personally.
For "few years" would keep with your current.ffp. Only after a "few years" worth joining an new ffp. Will a take a year to get status in a new ffp.
Why 2 existing Oneworld ffp's with mid level status?

As the family is flying do you currently have a BA family account?
Hopefully they all have ffp account that collect avios (other than the infant) for the flights to NZ.

BA status qualification https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/33863721-post4.html
02 What is a qualifying flight?
Examples of criteria used to determine a qualifying flight:
BA operated + BA flight prefix
BA operated + other flight prefix
Other carrier operated + BA flight prefix
IB operated + IB flight prefix

05 Silver

Entry and retention requirements:
600 Tier Points (plus 4 qualifying flights) or 50 qualifying flight
Best not refer to BA silver status, but OWS Sapphire . The word silver is also used by other OW ffp's for a different OW status [QF silver = OWR Ruby, CX Silver= OWR]

Worth looking at the requirement for QR & IB status qualification/qualification. IB does not have "own airline flight" requirements.
Can take advantage of the ability to move avios, but not status, between BA QR IB IE.

Getting long haul business awards NZ/AU to UK-EU is *very* hard. And a lot harder if wanting 2, 3 or more award seats

Living in BoP you will be flying Air NZ to get to AKL or others places. So join Air NZ ffp.. Some Air NZ fares do not credit to others Star ffp's. Or a very low %.
BoP is great place to live. I lived on Papamoa beach near Mount Maunganui for a short time.
