Was very tired but discussed with the manager the next day who acknowledged the error . New staff who don't know is an issue.
That's unfortunate to hear that such problems at check-in are more than a one-off. Wonder if there's a problem with their system if they don't see status (or in your case even worse: booking channel).

Now, to be fair, I chose breakfast as my Diamond amenity, so I'm not entitled to anything else. But a 10% discount off a drink seems like more of an insult than anything else. I'd say, if you can't muster up at least a "buy-one-get-one-free during the 6-8pm happy hour" offer or something like that, just don't do it at all.
