Didn't get time to post the review for my stay last month. So here we go.

My status: Diamond Ambassador

Positives:
Had booked a premium ocean view directly with IHG and noticed that this was now a Junior suite a few days before check in

staff ( other than at check in as mentioned below ) were very good and helpful

Room / bathroom was as per expectations.

Breakfast: was very good with alcohol ( I think maybe some sparkling wine?? ) at the cold buffet section. I dont drink in the morning and so didn't bother.. Could get a bit boring if staying for more than a night or two as it's the same items everyday ..

Pool is very nice and very good view of the sea

Negatives
Had a similar issue as the previous post.. Status not recognised at check in even though I was a Diamond Ambassador . Was initially told that I won't get any IHG perks as I didn't book directly ( I always book direct)..Had to literally argue to get the IHG benefits at this property .
Was very tired but discussed with the manager the next day who acknowledged the error . New staff who don't know is an issue..

Was in the room right next to the restaurant and so was a bit noisy till end of service

The train noise wasn't an issue but you still need to walk through the basement car park and down thrugh a tunnel under the tracks to get to the beach . I'm not sure how safe it is after dark as there weren't too many people around .

There isn't anything much around as mentioned by others.. So have to take a taxi or a longish walk to estoril . Its great for those who like to lounge around in the pool all day or if on a honeymoon etc ..But can be a bit out of the way otherwise .
