My business travel will mostly be to Hong Kong and Singapore (J) and Australia (Y). Employer funded, somewhat but not entirely price inelastic - 10-12 trips per year in total. I would generally like to redeem the miles for travel back to Europe / Middle East.

Few initial thoughts I had -
There's a mix of options - Cathay is OW, whereas Singapore is Star. AirNZ is also Star. Qatar is OW. Etihad and Emirates have no alliance but do partner with various airlines.
I don't know if there is an equivalent "slam dunk" credit card for earning akin to the BA Amex.
Is Qatar the best value redemption across all airlines mentioned for travel to/from Aus/NZ back to EMEA?

Any thoughts gratefully received!
How long on NZ for? A few months/years or for ever? {spent much time in NZ before?}
To be living in Auckland or elsewhere? (are better places to live than Auckland).
What is your current ffp (or ffp's)?

Will your employer have a corporate travel policy with a preferred airline?
Etihad does not fly to NZ.
EK is a partner of QF and other airlines.
QR Qatar is (weak) partner of QF Qantas and (stronger) partner of VA Virgin Australia.

The Air NZ ffp is poor compared to others. But if living in NZ not many other options for NZ domestic travel or local credit cards, except Amex..
Look as Amex NZ--> https://www.americanexpress.com/en-n...rds/travel/all

Best (theoretical) value redemption is one thing, but availability is the key. And unknown and variable. Earn to burn is what matters if awards are the ffp objective.

Look a the destinations-airlines from the main NZ airports

I'm BA Silver

So 2x32kg pieces per person.

We are emigrating so looking to max out. We have 3 car seats, fitting in 2 car seat bags, plus a silver cross stroller I was hoping to take to the gate. Then luggage on top. I was hoping to take 5 large suitcases. Travelling party of 5, including an infant we will book a seat for.
Answers some of the questions. A family of 5. Will they be flying on paid tickets in NZ, to AU/UK?
Would you be able to keep qualifying for BA status, with the required 2/4 BA-IB flights?
