Just got a text from my son who is in the air from BZE to IAH and then on to LAS, once they clear CBP at IAH is their a bag drop they can use without leaving the secure area? I have seen it in many other places but never done international at IAH. His concern is the duty free booze.....if he stays in the secure area it should be fine, if they leave it they have to put into a checked bag...Thanks in advance
He will have to put his booze in checked baggage and then recheck the luggage and go through security screening again. Sucks but it is what it is. One benefit is that baggage recheck is just past baggage collection area. The IAH connection logistics topic has additional good information.
