We received excellent instructions on where to find them at IST, and they texted and called ahead of arrival for our return trip to SAW. Price for a mini van (up to 6 pax with luggage) from IST to Sirkeci/Sultanahmet was 35€; Sirkeci/Sultanahmet to SAW was 40€.
The 4 pax car would be even less.

For our international departure on BA from SAW, we left 4 hours ahead of flight time, which was 15:30 (left at 11:30). The ride should have been about an hour but traffic added an extra 30 minutes. We arrived before the lines started forming for BA, but any later and we would’ve started to feel pinched. We also had “fast track” bc flying business and could circumvent the main passport and security line. I don’t know how long it would’ve taken otherwise, but fast track was about 20 minutes. I’m very glad we left our hotel when we did.
I'll be needing a couple airport shuttles for our visit to Istanbul in Sept so thanks for the recommendation. We are only 2 people but I'm not getting the option for a 4 pax car, other than a BMW option which is pricey. Still 35 Eur for a SAW to Grand Hyatt transfer in a private van seems quite good. One question: do you tip the driver for these types of transfers? I read that you don't generally tip taxi drivers other than rounding up the fare a bit.
