demue -- many thanks for responding again and no need to apologise at all: I really appreciated your input.

I was just frustrated at the outcome, especially as I absolutely believe what you and SMK77 had written above and that what I am asking for is possible.

I'm unsure whether the agent who mentioned Solitaire status was absolutely stating policy or not; to a large degree, I still wonder whether what I'd like to do is actually still possible. So, I might give it 2-3 more attempts to see. (I've had this kind of thing with agents of other FFPs and in the end struck gold at the fifth or sixth attempt.)

May I ask your advice on cancelling my current booking and waitlisting my preferred flights (I appreciate that this runs the risk of both losing my current reservation and also my desired waitlist disappearing while I wait for my KF miles to be redeposited into my account):

If I was able to waitlist my preferred flights, does KF Gold elite make any difference to the probability of my waitlist clearing and also could the actual clearing takes months to achieve (if it even does) as my flights wouldn't be until March '24.

Means people need to commit miles to KF if they want multiple waitlists which is tricky considering the amount of miles you would need and then some amount could be stuck to be used within 36 months. Sorry about that, as we shared, technically this is absolutely possible and not complex and was done on the past easily. If this benefit is now only extended to TPP/LPP (Solitaire/ Life Solitaire) then that's SQs decision.

Just don't know why it needs to be so "opaque" a rule and it is certainly limiting to customers though no doubt SQ has thought this through and decided on this approach
