That made me wonder when exactly I did this... when I made the reservation? When the plane lands 10 minutes before I pick the car up? If it said "submit your payment information", I wouldn't have thought twice. Bottom line is I never pay in advance, so I wanted to confirm. I am Hertz President club so I guess perhaps this is similar as it relates to not being prepaid. I'll give it a try if/when I get a competitive price from Alamo.
I only book through Costco and they don't even have a prepay option, they clearly say "book now, pay later". Before I travel I go to the Alamo website (Costco gives you 2 confirmation numbers, their own and also Alamo's) and do the Accelerated Check -in, and I'm pretty sure at that time you have to put in your cc #, but I don't consider that "pre-paying"? You can stll cancel last minute. Prepaying (to me) has always meant you are locking in a lower price and can't change/cancel.

Maybe one of the "auto" guys who frequent this forum can clarify.
