Finished up three nights at the SL in a plaza suite. Room itself was nice - a full one-bedroom suite with a half-bath in the living area and dining table for four. Some wear and tear showing, especially on the full-length mirror (a bunch of weird specs).
Service seemed well meaning, with a few staff going above and beyond. But it just doesn’t strike me as a real luxury hotel. They boast being called the “top business hotel in Taipei” and I think that suits them well.
Sure, I’d stay again (especially with the killer third night free). But it’s not true luxury.
SL as a brand continues to be in no man’s land IMO
