I had a three night stay here and for the most part it was a comfortable stay.
hotel: it’s really close to Hyatt house (about a 2 minute walk) and about a 30 minute drive to MCO. The overall state of the hotel is well kept. The lobby area is spacious and open providing plenty of seats for breakfast. I didn’t check out the pool here. The elevators are old and would make a banging sound whenever going up past the 2nd floor. It would sometime skip my floor when requesting which was annoying. There’s a universal rep located in the lobby which provides shuttle services (10:55am being the last one in the morning and 8pm being the last one at night). The rep would also leave at 11am.
check-in: checked in through the app late (around 8pm) and was assigned a room. In the app, it said I was upgraded, but it was still under the same room I initially booked. Arrived at 10pm to physically check in and status was recognized. I asked about why it said I was upgraded when I wasn’t actually upgraded. They offered a 1K higher floor and could not offer me the bunk bed room since those were premium. I stayed with my 2Q on the 3rd floor. I used my Hyatt gift card for this stay, and it seems like the manager is the only person that knows how to apply it.
room: the room was spacious with the same consistent layout of Hyatt places except for maybe the bathroom. It was cramped where every time I closed or open the bathroom door it would hit the toilet seat (pic below). I see some folks mentioned the fridge light, which actually can be turned off. The switch is located on the ceiling of inside the fridge to turn off. The wet bar area sink had some plumbing issues since water didn’t drain. I also noticed for the sink and shower that the water would get backed up slightly, so it drains very slowly. The AC was loud at times and you can hear cars honking or reviving their engines nearby.
Toilet seat would get bumped when door is closed/opened
dining/breakfast: only had breakfast one day and it was very basic. There were eggs, sausage, small pancakes, bread/bagel, and hard boiled eggs. There was also a lot of guests waiting in line (I think I counted 10-15 one time). The actual breakfast serving area is small but there’s tables all around the lobby and bar area. Breakfast hours M-F is 6:30am - 9:30am and weekends are 7am-10am. They also had a placery 24/7 dining which didn’t offer delivery room service but had to come downstairs to pick it up.
I don’t think I would come back anytime soon, since there are better options nearby (Hyatt grand cypress and Hyatt regency Orlando). This is only convenient and affordable for folks going to universal.
