Folks, thanks for keeping this thread updated! I was wondering if anyone could confirm a few things on the ABTC application interview step. I am a US citizen with an active Nexus membership. I have just received a conditional approval for the ABTC card. I read somewhere on CBP's site that I could just drop in to any Nexus enrollment center without an appointment to get it approved, but then I read in this thread that we do need to make an appointment, as CBSA seems to require it. When I went to the appointment scheduler online, it only listed the centers at the land border, which seems inconvenient as I live in NYC. There is a link to the CBSA interview scheduler, which results in an error message (error code 1202).
My questions are:
1) In my situation (US citizen with Nexus), ABTC approval still requires a two-step CBSA then CBP process?
2) Are the enrollment centers at the land border the only way to get the ABTC approved? Or can I attempt to do the two-step CBSA then CBP process to update documents at an airport location like YYZ or YVR without an appointment?
2) Does it make a difference (given I'm a US citizen) if I went to a center near the land border on the US side (there are many options) vs. the Canadian side (there are 2 options)?
Thanks in advance!
