Delayed / Damaged luggage
Hi all
My luggage misconnected in LHR on a 60 min layover to Madrid. From there I flew to Mexico. All on ticket.
The luggage must then have got lost in Madrid and never made it to Mexico until the night before I flew back, a full 6 days.
The bag also came back pretty much destroyed.
I've put a claim in for essentials (which for 6 days was not insignificant, though also nowhere near how much it could have been). I've also put a claim for damaged bag.
I suppose I should be happy if the above is granted and can't expect any further compensation? I don't necessarily want something for nothing but the delay meant I spent a significant amount of time in a mall (every day) to buy clothes (they kept saying it would arrive next day) so only bought the necessary, plus many phone calls to the various lost luggage numbers, not to mention the fact I wore the same trainers to work all week and such things like bank charges.
Is this just a case of hope I get my clothes refunded and leave it there or worth pursuing some extra Avios? It was a business class flight so not exactly cheap either.
