If someone makes a habit of doing this, UA may revoke their status. Doesn't look like that's a concern here.
Just went to the Centurion with a friend who got me in as a guest on Thursday and as we were sitting there his trip to LAS got cancelled. He was just outside of T30 and cancelled immediately with no problem. I had a flight out of T2 oddly (UA now using T2) and we even stopped at the Lark Creek for a cocktail prior to my flight which was at a nearby gate and used some credit card deal he had to get credit towards a meal/drink at Lark Creek. He had to show his now cancelled ticket which he still held and he had no problem accessing his benefit. We didn't try accessing the UC with his now cancelled ticket, I suspect that may not have worked but not sure. He eventually went home and I headed to my gate.
