I got an email about this promo this morning. Looking at the table of purchase options I concluded that it's actually more cost-effective to buy BS tickets. Then you actually get to fly somewhere, and you get lots of redeemable points, too. This promo only makes sense if you've got money to buy status but no time or desire to actually fly. ...In which case, why chase status?
