Now if only we could actually "read" this policy ourselves.
Some months ago I needed to get rebooked when I misconnected. While not specifically a GS policy issue, the agent I got on the phone said she could only put me in economy because my discounted first class fare basis was not available for the flight I wanted. She "read" to me the policy. I said as nicely as I could I wanted her to confirm that this was the current policy for an involuntary change and asked her for her name. She backed down and said she was reading from her notes what she believed the policy was from her last training session. I think she was reading the wrong section but who knows. She called someone else and got "approval" to put me in first.
