SMK77 - thanks again for this. I did HUACA twice (three calls total) and I got the same polite, but ultimately useless response: I need a whole new swathe of points to be able to waitlist these flights. I countered each time by saying that I was wishing to waitlist within my existing booking (and that this didn't require me to have another tranche of points at the ready). Yet... three agents have now told me the complete opposite: that I need these points in my account in order to waitlist these other flights.

Any suggestions for a workaround, SMK77? I mean, is there a SQ contact number which might lead me to agents who are actually schooled in how to do this? Or can this be done online at all?
