They generally don't release 1A in advance. It may come at online check in, and I have seen some people write that if the seat has been picked by someone eligible, and then releaeed from a change of booking it may show up. Though generally, it is blocked unless you fulfill status or fare requirements.
Thank you for the clarification. I’ll keep an eye out for it at checkin but will keep my expectations low since I have no status with ANA and am on a cheap fare (the JFK-CGK deal from last year).
