I couldn't imagine spending that much on an AA credit card just to get status especially if you're not earning LP's in other ways or flying AA much if at all. Horrible value proposition IMO.
you wouldnt just be getting status, you get award miles, not just LPs. you would be getting enough for a J award flight from the us to europe. worth an easy $4k or even more. 4% back on your spend isnt peanuts. just remember, different strokes for different folks.
