I booked an OBB train to travel from St. Polten to Kufstein; however, my plans changed and I will be departing from Salzburg instead (a stop down the line). Can I use the same ticket if I depart from Salzburg? I will be using the same, train just getting on at a later stop.

That’s a shame, because the St Pölten to Salzburg part of the journey is nearly 2 hours, whereas Salzburg to Kufstein is only about 70 minutes.
Your reservation will have lapsed by the time you board in Salzburg, but it is unlikely someone will have taken the seat, unless someone joins the train at Linz (the only intermediate stop) and pays the €15 supplement on board. In that case, I would sit in any other available seat in Business and explain the situation to the ticket controller. Unless he is completely obnoxious, he shouldn’t have a problem, since you are on the train you have booked, you have paid the Business class supplement, and there are no intermediate stops between Salzburg and Kufstein where someone else could board.
