You people are ridiculous. Ever think it could have been a fuel issue landing at PDX? If SEA was closed, I’m sure that PDX was pretty stacked up. NW gates could have possibly been full, and fuel service could have been backlogged. It sounds like everyone is suggesting that the NW Captain diverted to Moses Lake to sabotage the flight. I’m sure that there are reasons beyond our knowledge for the diversion. I also find it funny how some people like national security only when it is convenient for them. Running pizza through the x-ray machine takes all of 30 seconds. If pizza is brought in for the crew or staff rest room, the same procedure is followed. It’s not like they are wanding or testing the pizza for explosives. Pizza doesn’t get SSSS’ed. And also, Moses Lake DOES have the ground facilities to handle heavy aircraft, so I don't understand why that seems to be a conflict point here. However, Moses Lake only has an on-call customs service, and most likley has 1 customs agent on-call or present on the field to provide immigration service.
