I book airport pick-ups via hotels a lot, and it is very rare that they ask me for something in advance. Occasionally a pre-auth form, which I don’t have an issue with, but pictures of my CC - never.

Sheraton Astana in KZ told me that no pre-auth needed as I’m an Ambassador member.
Just use Yandex. It's a great car hailing app for Russia and former Soviet Republics.
