My love affair with Alamo continues
After being screwed by Budget for having a vapor of gas missing from my truly full return, I switched to Alamo almost exclusively. They have just done everything right, no fanfare, no arguing, no hard upsells, no extra charges for vapors of gas plus service fees.
But Alamo just did something that I'm still stunned by.
Rented a car in Victoria, BC. They are off airport, maybe about a mile. We picked up the car, guy was super nice, and off we go. While on the trip, our GPS died, and we couldn't figure out how to find a gas station on the return. We pulled into the Alamo lot, asked where there was one so we could fill it up and come back, he said "how much did you use"? (same guy, btw) - Well, it's certainly below Full. He looked, and said "that's fine, don't worry about it".
Can you imagine any other rental car company doing that? Especially Budget?
I know I'm destined to have my Alamo bubble burst one of these days, but so far I'm a very happy camper.
