The very first service between LGW and DFW was by Braniff on the famous Big Orange in 1978. We at BCAL came along in 1980 with the DC-10 and were flying it by the time that they collapsed in 1982. BA started operating route when it took over BCAL in 1988. It could not do so before as BCAL was the only British Airline designated on that route. How do I remember all this trivia???
