Booked a 5-night stay for late August and the pre-arrival experience hasn’t been great. Emailed them to arrange a car to pick me up from the airport. They sent me a lengthy pre-authorization form for 70 USD - Ok, done that and sent it back. Next they wanted a picture of my credit card (front + back) and a picture of my passport. Just to book a car to pick me up from the airport.

I declined and asked them to send me a secure online payment link if they really need to charge me in advance.

I book airport pick-ups via hotels a lot, and it is very rare that they ask me for something in advance. Occasionally a pre-auth form, which I don’t have an issue with, but pictures of my CC - never.

Sheraton Astana in KZ told me that no pre-auth needed as I’m an Ambassador member.
