Is this typical? Increased miles for award flight while reservation placed on hold.
Good afternoon,

I few days ago I found a pretty reasonable miles redemption for DCA to NAS nonstop in December for four of us. As I wasn't completely sure of our travel plans, I placed the reservation on hold (good through 7/24). Today we were able to confirm that we can get those days off so I logged in to complete the purchase. However, the miles needed for the flight has now tripled. Is this something that is pretty typical for AA or do I need to call in to complete the purchase at the original redemption level? Thanks in advance.
