BA or any big company aren't likely to pay a lot of attention to a forum like this.
What we can do is change our own personal behaviours in the light of these changes, based on our own enlightened self-interest.
We can also (in traditional FT style) analyse the new sweet spots and see where we can help each other to maximise what we *can* get from the new system.

This change was long telegraphed and I was not at all surprised when it was announced although I was a little shocked that no leak of its timing had made it to FT.

I hereby give everyone one free pass for a single whining post given that the changes have, 'sub-optimally impacted your avios earning potential and subsequent reward haul'. We all do it and it's good to vent once in a while. But just one post. One.
BA is a company and will operate in what it perceives as the best interests of its shareholders (ish).
