You can't change the fare type after booking. If the Travel Bank itself isn't expired then you can cancel and it will go back into the Travel Bank. If it is... you're out of luck. I can't imagine why a JetBlue employee would tell you to book a more expensive fare class...

that was shady of them but there's not too much you can do. Let this be a lesson learned and move on.

Thank you for confirming. Yeah I don’t fly jetblue too often. They just don’t fly to where I go often. Yes the credit has expired. I understand her thinking that those tickets are the most flexible and not subject to change fees but now I’m locked to blue extra lol. Would be genius for them to recommend that to everyone but I think it was an honest mistake. I just wonder how many people she told that too.
IF there is a schedule change on my future booking will I be able to “cancel” and get a new travel bank credit for the future? I know not to cancel now normally as It’s expired
