You can't change the fare type after booking. If the Travel Bank itself isn't expired then you can cancel and it will go back into the Travel Bank. If it is... you're out of luck. I can't imagine why a JetBlue employee would tell you to book a more expensive fare class... that was shady of them but there's not too much you can do. Let this be a lesson learned and move on.
