On this evening's evening VIE departure from Gate 9 at T3 I saw the gate staff make at least one person in the priority line (such as it is at that gate)check in their case- the gentleman in question looked most unhappy. I did notice that after boarding had completed there did appear to be plenty of space left in the overheads, which I am sure would not have improved his mood. The whole boarding experience from that gate is shambolic, though I guess that is largely down to the design of the gate.
