Every now and again it’s worth remembering an exceptionally brave and caring lady; Barbera Jane Harrison GC who died aged 22 going back into a burning aircraft to try to save the lives of 4 passengers who were trapped. This is the standard to which we try to hold ourselves- makes a missed breakfast seem somewhat trivial to me.
I entirely agree with all of the above and with the previous posts of Waterhorse . However, it is also the case that passengers have paid, in whichever class they fly, for a service whether that be a spalsh and dash in zoo class or something supposedly more refined further forward. If that service is not available even for legal reasons then instruction on compensation and on how to claim it should be given to all and I mean real money not these ever more devalued Avios stuff because IMHO this is breach of contract especially given the nonsense that is BA's advertising particularly in premium classes. As a side note if anyone has received the email from the Exec Club that I got this morning about this Pardavilato chap who is apparently " In charge of Club World's all-star cusine", what an absolute load of self-serving guff he writes. I didn't bother to read all of it but what I did read was absolutely ridiculous. I would have loved to have shoved the muck of a main course and the appalling presentation I was served with on my flight from AUS under his nose and ask him to explain that given that the complete and utter ****t he came out with in the article.
