I have a question on this topic.
- For the RENFE train, do they check the ticket against the name? The reason is because a friends child booked a ticket, but since our original train is now full, they could only get him an earlier train. Therefore plan is one of us take the earlier train, the the child travel with an adult. Not sure how stringent they are in Spain on this.
- In case above is not plausible, chances are the parents might drive down to Madrid and skip the train section. If I understand, it seems like you can already check-in 24 hours and seats will be allocated. So it seems like it should be OK to skip the train segment.

Any advise on this will be grateful. Thanks in advance
