I have read several posts here, and I understand that no one knows if UA will honor the tickets or not. I just wonder what your best, educated guess would be, assuming US goes belly up soon and UA is still flying in August, as to if the tickets would be honored by UA.

I wish to size up my situation because I recently got engaged and we thought Hawaii would be a great place to get married. But obviously I can't make any plans while things are so up in the air, no pun intended.

So, what are my chances of going on my award tickets? Good... Fair... Poor... Non-existent? Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!
Well--I wouldn't plan an important life event around UA honoring the award tickets.

But--and if someone could help me interpret this points.com page...

https://points.com/redemptionOptions...06721571404691

Am I interpreting the table correctly, for instance, that 11,250 ebay anything points transferred on points.com will get you the 25,000 AA domestic award?

If true--at that transfer rate--I would ditch the US award tickets on UA, redeposit the DM miles and transfer them via points.com into ebay anything points and then plan a transfer of the ebay anything points into AA for the Hawaiian trip.

It looks like two award tickets on UA to Hawaii would have been 35,000 miles each? Those 70,000 miles would transfer over to about 26,100 ebay anything points. At the rate on the points.com page I reference above, the two AA tickets to Hawaii would cost 31,500 ebay anything points---so you just need to get another 5000 ebay anything points which is pretty easy to do.

With those points.com transfers, you do need to have either a BOA visa or BOA visa debit card to do the transfers out of US DM accounts.

Hmm---I wonder.........
