There is no glossy messaging. Nothing glossy about "snack for a fee" right on the e-ticket.
Nothing glossy about "selections may vary" or "limited availability".
You are laser focused on "meals available", which is the ONLY piece of contradicting information.

Bottom line, as per the information given before buying a specific ticket, and as per the e-ticket, only snacks for fee will be offered.

This is not about defending AA's practices.
AA is terrible and no options of a meal on a 6hrs+ flight is horrible service. But that's what it is.

It is not false advertising. No filet-mignon or hot sandwiches advertised anywhere. Seems the best of the bunch is the coveted snack box, which is still a piece of junk and not better than the pringles or the almonds.
But that's what they offer to buy on board and is exactly as per their website.
