For minor time changes (<2h) my understanding was that the option “I want to cancel my flight and use my ticket later” will save the value of the ticket but won't give you full flexibility on the same itinerary - similar to a future flight credit.
i.e. once you contact LH to get rebooked, the itinerary will be repriced and you will have to pay fare difference and any add. taxes etc.
